Progress Knight is a life-sim incremental based in a fantasy/medieval setting, where you must progress through the career ladder and acquire new skills to become the ultimate being,

You first start off as a beggar, barely being able to feed yourself as the days go by. However, over the years you learn new skills and gain plenty of work experience to enter new high paying jobs while managing your living expenses...

Will you decide to take the easy route of doing simple commoner work? Or will you go through harsh training to climb the ranks within the military? Or maybe will you decide to study hard and enrol in a magic academy, learning life-impacting spells? Your career path is open-ended, the decision is up to you.

Eventually, your age will catch up to you. You will be given an option to prestige and gain xp multipliers (based on the performance of your current life) for your next life at the cost of losing all your levels and assets. Fear not though, as you will re-gain your levels much, much more quickly than in your previous life...

Idk if this is needed but suggestion for after 100kp or 1mp item called discretionary income that costs all the current net total income and adds that amount of platinum to the total happiness. "Not multiplied." This would conveniently prevent an infinitely rising number from inevitably breaking the game.

Edit: I start rambling here.

Secondary suggestion. Buddhism?

Based on the concept of a random saying I once heard in multiple chinese novels that is usually straight ignored or implied as a certain level of hypocritical joke. "Put down the butchers knife and immediately become buddha."

A monk profession that has speed bonus based on evil. No income. But at a certain level, 10k? and evil... 100k? You can purchase levels of nirvana that'll act as another level prestige/rebirth to reset all the numbers.

Because the people usually suggesting those things are evil and indeed it's easier to become evil then to become good. All the evil gains are multiplied by nirvana, but all evil for unlocking the different levels of evil skills are multiplied by 2 for each reset?

Then you could purchase bonuses for individual professions/skills in life with nirvana?

Then even further, going into duality of man route. Could give another level of reset based on demons/angels. Light and dark recycling between the two. The brighter the light the darker the shadow kind of mindset.

Then I guess, time based magical prestige? Once you've lived all the insane amount of total time and with the timespeed magic getting the power to manipulate time seems inevitable?

My ideas are becoming vaguer as I get em because none of this is real and I must have content to have idea. Someday I'll figure out what that there chairman position is...

Collection of Oddities. Functioning like achievements but just weird stuff. Like trying to stably live as a beggar in a grand palace "with all the additional stuff." "Beggar king."

Scholar, "Level 1million student." etc. Wandering legend "become legendary knight whilst never getting a home."

Could lead into a explorer thing. Which is just a total different game, in your game. "an adventure tab." Genuinely uninspiring and boring cliche but... What else would you do with these odd objects if not equip em?

Could go further into the a unique route by making each area you explore have unique animals with their own drops that you can refine into the main combat equipment of this imaginary adventure option through blacksmith job!, to add in another level of infinite GRIND!

Once you've finished this exploration tab, this imaginary I made up based on the imaginary thing I made up. You just go into a a character select... Multiple different rpg like professions. 6-8 whatever. Then you have to deck all of them individual they can only progress whilst your on em in gear, Eventually unlocking a party system for dungeons. After you've completed all the dungeons that presumably each exploration zone has a dungeon with elites of that zones mob as well as a rare boss monster. Allow you to prestige the individual weapons... Into tiers. Like how wow had those seasonal raid/pvp gear. Then of course once you've finished all that and decked your entire team out in epic gear you get to do it again 4 four more times...  Now raid party! Complete the raid. And prestige the characters! "They go into the history book as heros now you must exceed them and everything gets harder as you live in their shadows!" NOW DO IT AGAIN! HAHAHAHAHA - YOU SHALL NEVER ESCAPE!!!

Prestige option called end it all unlocks. Welcome embrace of the void.

Now everything fades to dark. Your at the base game no additional functions. BUT YOU ARE GOING INSANE. You must constantly fight to stave off the infection of the void. Which requires you to progress further. In search of the bliss of the end! In search of rest.

Eventually after you've ended it all hundreds of times... The devil shows up... He's gotten bored. This is hell. You've been being tortured this whole time. WHY ARE YOU ENJOYING THIS!

PROMOTION! Now you are an abyssal knight of hell! YAAH! "CONFETTI DROPS... Into a deep endless pit of despair." You've probably gone completely insane. So the game starts constantly begging you to stop. To close the game. TO walk away. To try something new. Your family misses you. WaKE uP!!!

It was all a dream. You are a beggar on the street again. All those of functions of the game. Gone. You made em up. Go again go again go gain!!! 1000 times difficulty to unlock anything. But at least you got a new oddity... A shattered mind. Yep, you've gone insane. It consumes all.  Everything loses 1 increment every second not going below 0. You cannot take it off.

At this point anyone playing the game has probably died of old age so you can just stop.

But you won't. Cause you went insane. When you decided to read all of this.

I accidentally hit the hard reset instead of the rebirth button. I lost days of progress :( why no confirm button for the reset :((

can you please dm me jwt salt so i can at least set my evil back to what it was before xD

This game is really fun! good have on the background kinda thing. The only issue I have is that the only real job worth levelling is military. Pls add more jobs after merchant.

hard agree. i guess it could be a separation of types of merchant (a "local" or more regional merchant and a (worldwide?) traveling merchant, just to give an example), or agent and then merchant (as merchants were the finance-and-investing guys who stayed at land and bossed the agents (aka traveling merchants) around) or other professions intermediate so merchant remains on top (like leatherworker or potter or butcher or woodcarver or jeweler or artist or... well, anything, really). personally though, i think it should be a rebalance of daily income because there is no way a merchant only gets like six gold per year considering that they trade fine goods.

Would be interesting if you could unlock a bonus to merchant based on the level of every other profession "Better understanding of the market/goods." then go full on corporate maybe?

However, I do have to point out. This is progress knight...

So... The main profession being military seems implied...

"At the same mindset bonuses to legendary knight for blacksmith/merchant levels? Better gear."

can i get a discord invite pls?

hey bros can I get a new discord invite?  thnx

Although I can run this on my phone it doesn't look exactly good

Use desktop mode?

Peak idle game

Great background game. love the scaling so far. It feels super rewarding.

(+3)

If you were to just go to the next skill in line every 1-5 seconds, instead of the lowest, skill leveling would scale with skill speed, requiring a lot less micromanaging.

(+1)

am I able to download this

Really reminds me of groundhog life.

can you speed up time? For me it takes almost 1u30min to play one life, it also seemed like it was faster in the beginning

for people playing this, there are many other versions made by fans(i think, not entirely sure), such as progress knight reborn, progress knight rewritten, progress knight quest (I think this one's the one with the most content), progress knight quest mythical , which is the one I said before but with way bigger multiplicators and more, their links are in the progress knight discord faq, or you can just google them

link for PK discord: https://discord.gg/QWzdqw8Y

can they be played in browser like this or?

(+1)

yes, most are browser games

hello may i ask for a new link for the discord? this one is already expired so i cant join :(

Best capitalism simulator. You need to reincarnate several times and work in the military to buy a house

(+8)(-1)

I don't know about that. I inherited my savegame as a chairman. This game is pretty easy

(1 edit)

Importing game doesn’t work when launching from the itch app :( says it wants to look for a Microsoft Store app that can open itch-cave links. It also seems to freeze the game :((

This is the game I wanted.

(+8)

early game trying to level magic just feels like real life. you're a student who doesn't make much money, so its easier if the military covers all your costs for you

(+4)

Realistic

(+4)

we gotta get an option to have the auto-learn function on the rate at which you gain levels rather than the level you're at. I'm sick of having to choose between never gaining levels in magic and only gaining levels in magic.

(1 edit) (+2)

Here's what I've gathered:

the amount xp per level is (kx)^10. For skills, that k value is about 0.01. Each job has a different k value. This essentially means that you need 1024x the xp to double a skill.

Most skills increase your stats linearly, and any skills that don't will instead increase your stats logarithmically. That means to increase the stat by 1, you have to multiply the skill by a certain amount. Each stat has a different base for the log. Bargaining's stat is a divider on prices, but the game only shows you the multiplier.

I don't know if this game is still getting updates but on the off chance it is, one thing I would like to see get added is food expense.

I went on vacation for a week, left my PC off, and my progress has  reset. I didn't clear cookies or cache or anything. Is there any way to retrieve my progress?

Love the game. I've come and gone a few times the last couple of years, and this was the furthest I've gotten.

(+1)

So, just to be clear, Chairman 1k is the End of the Game? Y/N?

Hey question what do i do with the 1.1 million platinum I've gotten

spend it????

How fun. My progress from chairman lvl 10 has been reset. Back to the beggar without even a tint of evil

(1 edit)

lo all. can someone explain something? and sorry if its been gone over before, but i just used the amulet for the first time and for jobs its telling me the max level for farmer is 11 but i just went afk for a few mins and it says im lvl 18. is it supposed to go over the limit? or is that what i had last time before the amulet? cause i dont remember what i had before

Max level is the highest level you reached for the job or skill in previous lives.

thats what i was thinking after i posted. seems like it affects the multiplier for the productivity skill.

You get an XP multiplier on each job or skill based on that job or skill's max level ("1 + the max level of the skill or job / 10" according to the description for touching the eye to reset).

cool thanks for the info.

(1 edit)

just saw the eye desc. forgot about it after the first time. sorry. about to reset for the second time.

why can't I change my stats nor buy things? I came back recently and I can only choose jobs

I have reached max lifespan and I cant use the amulet

can i download this?

finally unlocked chairman that took way too long

Hey question, is there any tips to get more evil or am i just have to reset and redo and reset and redo and reset and redo?

There is an evil gain skill, which multiplies your evil

does someone has a tip on how to live enough time for galactic xp?

(1 edit) (+7)(-1)

While it's possible to cheat, it's much more fun to test the boundaries to see if it's possible to finish the game without turning evil.
If I were to speedrun this, that's where I'd focus my attention.

So without further ado, let's overanalyse this idle game!

Basics:
The skills of Concentration and Meditation assist eachother. Creating a kind of multiplicative effect that boosts XP gain per daily tick. In the interests of efficiency it's important to level each as equally as possible. (As squares have a higher area/perimeter ratio than rectangles.)

Obviously increasing Max XP level is the most important objective of all. The question of when to press for boosting versus life extending is still an open problem.

I have, however, worked out an estimation for when to switch from increasing Concentration and Meditation into improving other skills. I anticipate that taking Max XP into consideration may add extra complexity in the decision making process. But that's a discussion for another time.

Early Analysis:

All skills have a starting XP requirement (baseData.maxXP) value of 100. You can work out the amount of XP needed to level up from level n to level n+1 with the equation: 100*(n+1)*1.01^n

The XP boost from Concentration and Meditation takes for from of:
(1+(0.01*c))*(1+(0.01*m)), where c and m are the respective Concentration and Meditation levels in the current run.

These equations combine in such a way that it's possible to observe higher levels becoming less and less effective; owing to how much more XP (and days taken) are required for any increased boost.

The data:
So I composed a spreadsheet to calculate the best timing for most boost, but least wasted days ticking over XP gains. The results are as follows. Levels are calculated in lots of 10.

If the target for your 3rd skill is between level 10 to 50, levelling Concentration and Meditation to 10 is best.

3rd skill target 60 to 70; C&M level of 20. Target 80; C&M 30.

90 to 100; 40.  150; 80.  200; 120. 300; 200. 400; 280.  500; 360.

600; 440.  700; 530.  800; 620.  900; 700.  1000; 790.

1200; 970.  1400; 1160.  1600; 1340.  1800; 1530.  2000; 1720.

Hey I have a question ihtasham_42 how much evil ex do you think someone should need to eak out the 1k chairman levels?

What is the next step after getting over 1k evil xp?

get more xp I'm at 10k an i need more so i can figure out what you get with 1k chairman jobs

(-1)

Here's the list of jobs you can get in common work:

Beggar

Farmer

Fisherman

Miner

Blacksmith

Merchant.

Overall the footman still pays better than the merchant so its better to just stick with military jobs.

Hey how much mana manipulation do i need to get to chairman?

Never mind i found it

(+3)

So I’ve gotten so far as to live for about half a million years with transcendence and galactic xp. The trick to getting that far is pouring evil xp until you get to 10’000 years. From that point onwards you have to compound your gains with evil xp until you get another chance at transcendence. Keep going till you get 30’000 galactic xp pretty much, with a solid 2 billion evil xp and you’re in good runnings to finally finish the game

Hey how much evil xp did you need to get to 10k years?

(+4)

This game is... so addicting...
