we gotta get an option to have the auto-learn function on the rate at which you gain levels rather than the level you're at. I'm sick of having to choose between never gaining levels in magic and only gaining levels in magic.
the amount xp per level is (kx)^10. For skills, that k value is about 0.01. Each job has a different k value. This essentially means that you need 1024x the xp to double a skill.
Most skills increase your stats linearly, and any skills that don't will instead increase your stats logarithmically. That means to increase the stat by 1, you have to multiply the skill by a certain amount. Each stat has a different base for the log. Bargaining's stat is a divider on prices, but the game only shows you the multiplier.
I went on vacation for a week, left my PC off, and my progress has reset. I didn't clear cookies or cache or anything. Is there any way to retrieve my progress?
Love the game. I've come and gone a few times the last couple of years, and this was the furthest I've gotten.
lo all. can someone explain something? and sorry if its been gone over before, but i just used the amulet for the first time and for jobs its telling me the max level for farmer is 11 but i just went afk for a few mins and it says im lvl 18. is it supposed to go over the limit? or is that what i had last time before the amulet? cause i dont remember what i had before
You get an XP multiplier on each job or skill based on that job or skill's max level ("1 + the max level of the skill or job / 10" according to the description for touching the eye to reset).
While it's possible to cheat, it's much more fun to test the boundaries to see if it's possible to finish the game without turning evil. If I were to speedrun this, that's where I'd focus my attention.
So without further ado, let's overanalyse this idle game!
Basics: The skills of Concentration and Meditation assist eachother. Creating a kind of multiplicative effect that boosts XP gain per daily tick. In the interests of efficiency it's important to level each as equally as possible. (As squares have a higher area/perimeter ratio than rectangles.)
Obviously increasing Max XP level is the most important objective of all. The question of when to press for boosting versus life extending is still an open problem.
I have, however, worked out an estimation for when to switch from increasing Concentration and Meditation into improving other skills. I anticipate that taking Max XP into consideration may add extra complexity in the decision making process. But that's a discussion for another time.
Early Analysis:
All skills have a starting XP requirement (baseData.maxXP) value of 100. You can work out the amount of XP needed to level up from level n to level n+1 with the equation: 100*(n+1)*1.01^n
The XP boost from Concentration and Meditation takes for from of: (1+(0.01*c))*(1+(0.01*m)), where c and m are the respective Concentration and Meditation levels in the current run.
These equations combine in such a way that it's possible to observe higher levels becoming less and less effective; owing to how much more XP (and days taken) are required for any increased boost.
The data: So I composed a spreadsheet to calculate the best timing for most boost, but least wasted days ticking over XP gains. The results are as follows. Levels are calculated in lots of 10.
If the target for your 3rd skill is between level 10 to 50, levelling Concentration and Meditation to 10 is best.
3rd skill target 60 to 70; C&M level of 20. Target 80; C&M 30.
So I’ve gotten so far as to live for about half a million years with transcendence and galactic xp. The trick to getting that far is pouring evil xp until you get to 10’000 years. From that point onwards you have to compound your gains with evil xp until you get another chance at transcendence. Keep going till you get 30’000 galactic xp pretty much, with a solid 2 billion evil xp and you’re in good runnings to finally finish the game
i played like 5 hours straight and was thinking, this game is pretty good. It must have some save! i refreshed the page and it didnt :( Atleast while using Brave
I also noticed that there's no auto-promote or auto-learn options anymore. There was some sort of update to the game, but I can't be bothered to find out if there's any new content or not since I have to start over.
Edit: nvm the auto-promote and auto-learn were just not there due to being low level
the only think i wish is that the currency was based on IRL medieval currency of L.S.D(pounds shillings and pence) rather than the DND stylized medieval currency of platinum gold silver and copper. i get why it isnt the real one, and i appreciate how you simplified the one you did use. for the real one 1 pound = 20 shillings = 240 pence. 1 shilling is 12 pence. something costs 2 pounds 5 shilling 3 pence? 2.5.3 is how you write it. you get 2.6.0 for it? you give back 0.0.9 easy as pie. now, first we need to figure out how to shorthand the coinage for the fake one(platinum, gold, silver, etc), cause not everything does it the same. thankfully the game does it for us, the first letter of the element name is the shorthand. let's say something is 4p52g98s45c first thing first all that change is heavy so you arent lugging around all of that. let's say you actually have 5p,10g,15s,50c still heavy in the coin sack(pockets arent around yet) but managable. so you want to buy this bed. the something is a bed. gamemaker, you made it easy on us, relatively anyways. you chose decimal. so we just need to minus each number from 100 to figure out the change. i made it easy on us with the numbers i chose, it's 0p48g2s55c that was relatively easy. other games have it set up where it isnt so easy to do on the fly. i guess this ended up more being a rant about how other games do it poorely and i wish they would do it like this one does it or just do it how the real world did it predecimalization.
Does this game have an end? Not a point where you stop playing but the point where you unlock everything in one life, is there some special text or something?
I haven't gotten that deep into it yet, but if you haven't yet you should invest time into magic stuff cause it prolongs your lifespan and makes the game faster. Once you lived longer than 200 years you can get evil stack which unlock new skills that make the leveling even faster. I've been playing for about 2 weeks now. Still haven't unlocked everything.
Once you get 10 student level, you can then unlock apprentice mage. (Provided that you've also managed to get Mana Control up to level 400.)
Once Apprentice Mage is level 10, you can finally extend your life.
The best strat is to level up both Concentration and Meditation as much as they can go. I managed to get each up to 440 before I started extending my lifespan. It's best to switch back and forth levelling each one up.
This game hinges on living until you're 200 years old so you then take an evil route. I'm trying to refuse evil and it might be impossible to play long-term. The XP requirements for levelling up exceed any wage you can reasonably earn to pump your bonus from the shop.
generally you should switch from high money jobs until youve built up decent money, pick magic job, and have high XP then when you start running out of money, switch back to high money job. use the highest XP items that boost you for best effect.

They're the same game
he didn't copy they stole his game you dumb dumb , that's what they do
I don't know if this game is still getting updates but on the off chance it is, one thing I would like to see get added is food expense.
I went on vacation for a week, left my PC off, and my progress has reset. I didn't clear cookies or cache or anything. Is there any way to retrieve my progress?
Love the game. I've come and gone a few times the last couple of years, and this was the furthest I've gotten.
So, just to be clear, Chairman 1k is the End of the Game? Y/N?
Hey question what do i do with the 1.1 million platinum I've gotten
How fun. My progress from chairman lvl 10 has been reset. Back to the beggar without even a tint of evil
lo all. can someone explain something? and sorry if its been gone over before, but i just used the amulet for the first time and for jobs its telling me the max level for farmer is 11 but i just went afk for a few mins and it says im lvl 18. is it supposed to go over the limit? or is that what i had last time before the amulet? cause i dont remember what i had before
Max level is the highest level you reached for the job or skill in previous lives.
thats what i was thinking after i posted. seems like it affects the multiplier for the productivity skill.

cool thanks for the info.
just saw the eye desc. forgot about it after the first time. sorry. about to reset for the second time.
why can't I change my stats nor buy things? I came back recently and I can only choose jobs
I have reached max lifespan and I cant use the amulet
can i download this?
finally unlocked chairman that took way too long
Hey question, is there any tips to get more evil or am i just have to reset and redo and reset and redo and reset and redo?
There is an evil gain skill, which multiplies your evil
does someone has a tip on how to live enough time for galactic xp?

Hey I have a question ihtasham_42 how much evil ex do you think someone should need to eak out the 1k chairman levels?
What is the next step after getting over 1k evil xp?
get more xp I'm at 10k an i need more so i can figure out what you get with 1k chairman jobs
Here's the list of jobs you can get in common work:
Beggar
Farmer
Fisherman
Miner
Blacksmith
Merchant.
Overall the footman still pays better than the merchant so its better to just stick with military jobs.
Hey how much mana manipulation do i need to get to chairman?
Never mind i found it

It does. I think the saves were wiped tho. I lost about a month of progress today. Didn't export my save file and now I have nothing.
I also noticed that there's no auto-promote or auto-learn options anymore. There was some sort of update to the game, but I can't be bothered to find out if there's any new content or not since I have to start over.

Maybe the maker should add some items to buy,, so that we could use the earned money
No download?

i have lived at least 300 years but it hasnt given me new stuff
How does Auto-Learn decide what to select?
Great game btw
seems to be trying to get all skills on the same level. so it picks the lowest level starting from the top.
is it more worthwhile to sink time and effort into being a student?

what a world. you even have to pay for your sword upkeep. poor soldiers.
"Will you embrace evil?"
No, I don't think I will. *Continues to play the game without it*
What is T.A.A XP from mana control?
wait nvm it means "The Arcane Association."
lol didnt get any rebirth stuff because I interacted with the eye too early
I think I didn't get anything either
child of groundhog life.
beware that you CAN'T finish the game.
"I love this game. You can just keep progressing and progressing, though many would find this boring, I do not. I think this is fun."

Can you add a little menu where you can make time go by faster? It would be great for saving time.
Thanks in advance!
You can do this with the third magic ability you get.
Is there a chance that you make this game downloadable?
I'm absolutely loving this game, and really enjoy the curiosity that it brings with it as I keep getting closer and closer to new things.
You did a great job with Progress Knight :D

what heppens when you get to the end of your lifespan?
Its just like life IRL. You die.
Then... you must...the amulet....you must.....
